It’s September, and that can mean a lot of different things for people. For some, it means back to school schedules. Others are wicked excited for Oktoberfest brews and pumpkin spice. Here at ECI, it means we’re transitioning from the hum and buzz of A.C. repairs and installations to the maintenance of boilers and oil fills. This year though, fall means something else to us, too.
We are just a few short weeks away from what we are hoping will become an annual staple in what our customers can expect from us: our inaugural Benefit to Battle Parkinson’s Disease.
Parkinson’s Disease is probably most well known because of the actor, Michael J. Fox. There are over 4 million people living with it all over the world, and it hits home for a lot of here at ECI. Because of this, we are hosting a benefit to help battle this disease that affects the nervous system, causing tremors and slowness of movement.
As part of our commitment to giving back, the proceeds from the benefit will be going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is a non-profit dedicated to research and treatment of Parkinson’s. The evening will include an open bar, and sandwiches and sides, all included with the purchase of a ticket. In addition, there will be a live D.J., door prizes, and some really fun raffle baskets that are being put together through generous donations from businesses and organizations including the Eagles, Shady Brook Farm, Lyon and Conklin, and many many more.
If you or someone you know wants to participate, come on in to the office. We have tickets for sale at $40.00 a piece ($50.00 at the door day of) and we have lots of fun gift basket ideas if you’d like to make one for us to raffle off!
The Benefit is going to be on September 30th, from 5pm to 9pm at Joey O’s in Philadelphia. We hope that you’ll join us for some food and fun(d)raising!
