Common Interview Mistakes That Can Cost you.

When you’re job searching, things can begin to get overwhelming, especially if you’ve been doing it for awhile. There is nothing more disappointing than hearing from a company who is considering you for a position, only to find that they went with another candidate. Often times, the decision to not hire someone may very well have nothing to do with qualifications, but rather perceptions that develop throughout the screening process. Here are some common red flags for recruiters that are easy mistakes anyone can make.

Some Facts About Oil: Why you should think about upgrading your furnace or Boiler.

While it may not feel like it now, winter is coming. Before it gets here, it’s important to consider how you will be heating your home. Think about what it cost you last year. Were you happy with the figure? Were you comfortable with the system? If you weren’t, it’s time to talk about what can be done differently, and I would like to point out a few things for you to consider, or rather one thing; oil.

ECI Gives back: the inaugural benefit to battle parkinson's

It’s September, and that can mean a lot of different things for people. For some, it means back to school schedules. Others are wicked excited for Oktoberfest brews and pumpkin spice. Here at ECI, it means we’re transitioning from the hum and buzz of A.C. repairs and installations to the maintenance of boilers and oil fills. This year though, fall means something else to us, too.

What you should know about boiler maintenance.

You probably don’t want to talk about it, but there’s something looming in the air. It’s starting small; in place of your central air, your windows are being opened because that sweltering heat isn’t so heavy. In the morning, you’re putting on your slippers. You slept through the night under the covers. That’s right, winter is coming.

Doylestown Boiler Replacement

Doylestown in Bucks County, PA has many lovely colonial homes like this one. The Doylestown area is seeing a real resurgence, and are filled with families, just like our homeowners. These classic homes are often heated by oil heat and radiators, which can be an efficienct and cost effective way to heat any home. Our homeowners in the Woods of Sandy Ridge called ECI because they were having two problems- they had a leak in their current boiler, and they never seemed to have enough hot water.  We knew we had the perfect solution which would make this family comfortable for years to come!

Abington Colonial Needs a New Boiler

Stone Homes in Abington look a lot like the Abington Arts Center, pictured above

Abington is full of stone colonial style homes. These older homes tend to rely on steam or hot water heat, requiring a boiler and radiators to distribute heat throughout the home. Our homeowners in Abington had a 25 year old Burham gas fired boiler with a standing pilot that had developed a bad gas valve. In order to replace the valve, it was going to cost $1,000, so the family needed to decide whether it was worth fixing the older boiler, or whether it was time to replace it with a more modern, and more efficient unit.

The homeowners had previous experience with us at ECI Comfort, having called us to install ductless air conditioning in their home. Based on their prior experience, they knew they could trust ECI and our technicians to do a great job and ensure the family with warmth and comfort throughout their home for years to come.

ECI Saves Media, PA Homeowners $850 On Boiler Replacement

This charming home needed to replace a leaking cast-iron boiler.

Like many older homes in our area, this Media home, built in 1912, uses a boiler and radiator heat to keep their home warm. This homeowner had a relatively new boiler- it was only eight years old- and it was leaking from one of the cast-iron sections, something you don't expect in a relatively new boiler!

The homeowners in this charming home in Media were relatively new owners. They were surprised to discover that their boiler, only eight years old, was already leaking. They called their home-heating oil supply company to come take a look at it, and they were recommending replacement. As you can see from the pictures below, while the outside of the boiler looked fine, the insides were a mess! The homeowners had previously worked with us here at ECI, when  we were able to save them from some undue costs on previous work, so they decided to ask for a second opinion beofre taking on the big job- and expense- associated with replacing a boiler.

Our homeowners had gotten to know and trust ECI because of the excellent service we provided in the past, and they knew we would go the extra mile for them. We knew they needed to be comfortable as soon as possible, so getting them back in business was a priority.

Bensalem Homeowners Save Money On Emergency Boiler Replacement

This ranch home needed to replace a leaking boiler.

Like many older homes in our area, this Bensalem ranch-style home used a boiler and radiator heat to keep their home warm in winter. Their old, Weil-Mclain cast iron boiler with tankless coils started leaking, and it was clear that it was time for a replacement. Having your boiler develop a leak just as it starts to get colder out is every homeowner's nightmare, and trying to do so on a budget is equally challenging!

Our homeowner had gotten to know ECI because we provided their home heating oil service, so they knew they could trust us to give them good advice on replacing their boiler with an affordable solution and get the job done as soon as possible, to ensure the family would be warm all winter!

Tankless heater offers “endless” hot water for Gladwyne, PA home

This wonderful Stone Home on the Main Line in Gladwyne needed serious help.

Like many older homes in our area,  this Gladwyne home is a real gem- but it hid a secret- a seriously antiquidated heating and hot water system!  The old oil-fueled boiler was massive, as was the hot water heater. Both were really inefficient, and it cost the homeowner a fortune every year in fuel bills to maintain comfort in this large, historic home.  Just take a look at the old boiler and equipment!
