In this Merion Station, Pa. home, some of the rooms experienced hot and cold spot difficulties. The homeowner, Robert, had recently purchased the home and immediately realized the uncomfortable temperatures in a front, first floor room. He planned to turn it into an office and guest bedroom, as it had its own bathroom in the room.
Robert's job involved working from home, and his move from Center City with his wife and son was coming up; so it became a priority to make his home as comfortable as possible for not only himself, but his family as well.
On the second floor, the two bedrooms had Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat units already installed! This indicated that the previous homeowner experienced similar issues in these rooms. This gave Robert an idea for a solution: adding another Hyper-Heat ductless unit.
While searching online for the next step, Robert came across ECI Comfort. Through initial conversations, he explained his concerns for the room and what his plans were for it. Being that it was going to act as an office and guest bedroom, it was important to make it a comfortable area.
He also explained that the ductwork that lead to this room was woven through the garage and into a tight crawl space, making it difficult to access or alter.

Installing a Single-Zone Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat Ductless System in Merion Station
Upon arriving and meeting Robert, he and Joe explored the home and its many interesting functionalities. Robert explained all of his plans while showing Joe each room in the home. He discussed different levels of comfort throughout, where his son's room was, and where the nursery would be for the new baby they were expecting!
Each room was unique in its level of comfort, including the two upstairs bedrooms that already featured ductless systems. These indoor units were low wall mounts, sitting almost on the floor.

Robert discussed his concern for the existing ductwork and explained how taking on that project right now, on top of all else, was not something he'd be interested in. He planned to better insulate the crawl space area under the first floor problem room to at least assist in keeping it warm.
As we continued, Robert turned up the heat to show Joe how warm most of the home gets, except for those three problem rooms (with the current Hyper-Heats turned off).
Joe explained how adding a new Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat high wall ductless unit would benefit him in ways such as having individual room control. This was important to Robert, as he would now be able to lower the thermostat temperature for the rest of the home while working in his office, using just the ductless unit. This would also save him money on heating costs!
After taking a few days to discuss the project with his wife, Robert decided to move forward. With a single-zone ductless project like this, ECI was able to complete the install in one day!
With an 8am start we were able to arrive at the home, get setup, and begin our installation process. The outdoor heat pump was installed and wired while the indoor unit was being setup. The connections were made and line sets, finished by mounting the indoor unit. After installation was complete, the crew cleaned up the area to create a spotless and neat finish. The unit was started up and tested, making sure everything worked. A final step was having our install crew lead explain the system to the homeowner, showing its parts, how it works, and what we did!
Now, Robert will finally have a comfortable room. His office will be evenly heated and cooled, allowing for his work space to be adequate. The Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat ductless unit will provide him with the satisfaction he desired for his new space. Both the indoor and outdoor units are "whisper quiet," which will run without interrupting his work day or a guest's stay.
