Our homeowners in Pennsauken, NJ absolutely love their beautiful single-family home. However, they do not love battling off hot, humid summers. It was time to make a change.

With an older home that was built in the 60s, there is a lack of any cooling system. This home also does not use a forced-air system, so there is no preexisting ductwork. Without ductwork, central air cannot be added unless new ductwork is built. This process becomes expensive and changes the look of the home.

After relying on window AC units, fans, and high utility bills, the homeowners were ultimately ready to move onto a better system. Maintaining, storing, and installing window units in every room was getting old, fast.

After finding ECI and receiving a consultation, the homeowners arrived at the perfect solution for beating the summer heat. Mitsubishi ductless is the answer.

Mitsubishi Ductless Heating and Cooling

Problem: Homeowners in Pennsauken, NJ wanted a better cooling system, but their home did not have ductwork.

Solution: Installing a seven-zone Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning mini split system. It uses a heat pump and seven air handlers to treat the first floor, bedrooms, and office.

Installing the Mitsubishi ductless split system in this Pennsauken home was a very straightforward process. For this home, five air handlers would be placed up on the wall, and two would be place on the floor. This keeps things out of the way and the space open.

Due to this, the line sets are able to remain out of sight, mostly through the floor or hidden inside a closet. These lines all neatly swim throughout the home and into the heat pumps mounted outside of the home.

Above you can see the two different styles. One is mounted high on a wall and the other is mounted in a corner, on the floor. They remain out of sight and out of mind, unlike loud, inefficient, and ugly window units, like this:

Once these window units are removed from the home, this homeowner can finally welcome natural light back inside, while cooling the area much more effectively.

One of the best parts, is that all you see is the air handler. There are no ducts or soffits visible!

After installation, we are sure to keep the house neat and clean. Now our homeowners are prepared to fight off the summer heat and relax in extreme comfort!

Do not forget, there are many benefits with ductless air conditioning in an older home!

It requires no major construction, lowers energy bills, and provides supplemental heating!

As for construction, there is no need to build out compartments in each room to create places for new ductwork. This allows the homeowner to maintain the look and style of their existing home. Instead, units are mounted to the walls and/or floors, and wires and tubing are ran behind them!

Ductless units use much less electricity than portable units. Due to this, the homeowners will pay less because they are no longer relying on old and inefficient appliances.

Lastly, these systems provide supplemental heating to the home. Each air handler gives a boost to the existing hot water baseboard heat! This gives the homeowners even more opportunity for optimum comfort, especially in rooms that are typically colder!

For heat, this homeowner chose a standard heat pump, which will operate for cooling as well as heat, as long as the outside temperatures remain above freezing. However, you can select a Hyper-Heat pump for your home if the extra heat is desired during the coldest months.
