Back in 2008, John Mastronardo purchased a beautiful, older stone home in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. With only window air-conditioning units and radiators on each floor, John realized right away that the house needed an entirely new HVAC system. Luckily, one of his neighbors was all too happy to show him the system they had installed and enthusiastically referred him to ECI Comfort.
It was a hot summer day when John took a break from walking his dog to stop into his neighbor's house and cool off a bit. Immediately, he felt the cool, fresh air and was curious to find out what kind of system they used.
John called ECI and explained that he wanted a heating and cooling system that was easy to maintain and had low operating costs. We gave him a number of options and, after some discussion and research, he settled on a hybrid consisting of a Trane heat-pump and multi-zone, Unico high-velocity system.
Since John had a fondness for radiator heat, we also suggested keeping some of the ones on the first floor. Five or so yeas later, he called ECI again to replace his tankless water heater that the previous owner had installed, and sat down with Ron to discuss the work that was done in his home.
John has been thrilled with the results! Even five years later when we returned for the water heater, he told us that he wouldn’t have done anything differently and was still surprised that his old, stone home stayed comfortable year-round.
