Case Studies

THE PROBLEM: A customer’s aging gas-fired steam boiler was approaching the point where replacement made more sense than continued reliance on older equipment. The home needed a new boiler properly matched to its existing radiators, along with a replacement for its electric water heater.

THE SOLUTION: A radiator-by-radiator survey established the connected steam load before a new gas-fired steam boiler was selected and installed. The project replaced the aging boiler with new equipment and manufacturer-backed warranty coverage while converting domestic hot water from electric to gas.

THE PROBLEM: The homeowner’s approximately 30-year-old, 80% efficient boiler had shut down while she was traveling during previous winters. Although the system was still operating, its age and history made reliable home heating a growing concern whenever she was away.

THE SOLUTION: The aging boiler was replaced with a 96% high-efficiency Lochinvar condensing boiler. A new water heater and Honeywell T10 smart thermostat completed the upgrade, giving the homeowner efficient heating, remote temperature monitoring, and greater peace of mind while traveling.

PROBLEM: Keith’s aging 20-year-old oil boiler had developed a crack, leaving his Langhorne home without a reliable source of heat and hot water. The old oil system was inefficient, costly to maintain, and inconvenient due to frequent fuel deliveries.

SOLUTION: After being referred to ECI Comfort, Keith upgraded to a 90% efficient Energy Kinetics Ascent Plus Combi gas boiler. This new natural gas system provided cleaner, quieter, and more efficient heating—eliminating the need for oil, lowering energy costs, and improving year-round comfort for his Langhorne home.

PROBLEM: Our customer had an eight year oil boiler, and another company was recommending replacement. The homeowner called ECI for a second opinion to make sure they wouldn't be unnecessarily spending extra money.

SOLUTION: ECI contacted the company and we were able to replace the boiler under rebate warranty, as well as obtain an $850 rebate for the homeowner. We were able to do a complete replacement of the unit with a newer version rapidly and cost-effectively, saving them significant costs over recommendations from other companies.

PROBLEM: Bob was exhausted from the never-ending task of refilling his boiler with gallons of water, only to find water leaks in his basement every time he came home. His outdated boiler setup had become a major hassle and he knew it was time for a change.

SOLUTION: ECI Comfort came to the rescue by installing an Energy Kinetics Accel CS boiler, known for its exceptional efficiency in producing heat and hot water. But that's not all - we took it a step further by swapping out Bob's old cast iron radiators with sleek and modern wall panel Runtal radiators, ensuring that every corner of his home receives the warmth it deserves.

PROBLEM: Our homeowners had a twenty-five year old boiler with a bad gas valve. Replacement of the unit was expensive and they decided it'd be wiser to invest in a new boiler as a long-term investment in their comfort and safety.

SOLUTION: ECI Comfort installed a newer version of their Burnham boiler, a series-3 Model #306 gas boiler with electronic ignition. This new boiler is more efficient than the old version and will save on fuel by not running a pilot light constantly. The new control packages can save between 15 and 20 percent in fuel costs.

PROBLEM: Our customer, Maria, had a steam boiler for twenty years. In the past couple of years, she decided it was time to move away from her high gas bills and stop spending money each year to keep it running.

SOLUTION: ECI installed a Mitsubishi Electric Ductless Heat Pump with four indoor wall units to allow her to customize her heating and cooling!

PROBLEM: Our homeowner was looking for a high-quality cooling solution that would not compromise the integrity of his stone home. He was also interested in an efficient heating option to replace his outdated boiler.

SOLUTION: ECI installed a Unico High-Velocity system and a Buderus boiler radiant floor heating system. Throughout the years, we also added a second high-velocity system, an upgraded boiler, and a new water heater.

PROBLEM: Our homeowners were searching the web for a new heating and hot water system that was both more efficient and more reliable than their current setup.

SOLUTION: After coming across our company on the Energy Kinetics website and expressing their interest in an Energy Kinetics Accel CS Condensing Boiler, they scheduled an estimate with us and installed the efficient boiler of their dreams!

PROBLEM: Our homeowners' existing boiler was a bit over 40 years old, installed by one of their parents! They were worried about when their boiler's last day would be, so they started planning ahead.

SOLUTION: After they called ECI, we were able to install a brand new Energy Kinetics Ascent Combi Boiler to replace the one they relied on for the past two decades. With financing and our senior citizen discount, they got cozy quickly with less money out of their pocket!
