Installation flexibility
Available in 13 models and with more adjustable parameters than any other competitor, KNIGHT is the most flexible residential boiler you can install. The boiler family includes six floor-mounts and seven wall-mounts, and offers a wide range of heating capacities from 55,000 to 399,000 BTU/hr. Installation is also made easy with top and bottom water connections for the WHB and top and left side utility connections for the KHB for easy retrofitting.
Smart System
Lochinvar's Smart System control makes the setup and operation of KNIGHT boilers easier through its large display, color-coded screens, soft keys, and navigation dial used for quick transitioning. The system also gives installers access to all the information they need to set up, diagnose, and monitor the system's various functions.
Plus, the information is presented in real words -- not codes -- so that homeowners can better understand how to work with the boiler. The Smart System includes features such as the Set-Up Wizard for easy programming, Vacation Mode to save energy when you're away, Ramp Delay to adjust modulation, and more.
10:1 modulation turndown
Installing a modulating boiler means that your unit can run longer cycles on low fire rather than switch on and off at a high-fire rate. This can save you a great deal of energy and therefore lower your heating costs. A 10:1 turndown means the minimum operating load is 10 percent of the full load capacity. For example, if a boiler with a 10:1 turndown is capable of a maximum input 100,000 BTU/hr, it means that the unit can actually supply as little as 10,000 BTU/hr. Again, the benefit is that it saves money on fuel costs
ECM variable pump technology
Now a standard feature in Lochinvar boilers, ECM pump technology saves electricity & lowers operating costs, keeping money in homeowners' pockets. The ECM pump works with the Smart System to make variable speed pump integration simple. You can save even more by taking advantage of local rebate programs for ECM variable speed pumps.
Fire-tube heat exchanger
The innovative design of Lochinvar's fire-tube heat exchanger can produce a higher heat transfer coefficient than traditional fire tubes, providing greater comfort and efficiency. Low-pressure drop also saves on pump operation costs and provides installation flexibility, while stainless steel fights corrosion.
