Bracketology: How the Voting in Conference Tournament 5 Impacts the March Sadness Tournament

It's been about two weeks since Conference Tournament 5 began, and there is a clear winner so far in this tournament. With only two weeks left of play, the other teams need to step up their game if they want the chance to win.

Welcome to ECI8's March Sadness Bracketology Report. The competition is in full swing, and teams across every tournament are vying for a top spot in an effort to win a brand new HVAC unit worth up to $20,000.Learn More About  March Sadness
Let's take a look at how the teams in Conference Tournament 5 are doing.

Who is the projected #1 or #2 seed from this tournament?

Team Hot And Heavy of Levittown, Pa. is currently in 1st place with 56.9% of the votes. They just moved into their new house and are now realizing that the heater is a bit of an issue...It runs whenever it wants and costs this team crazy amounts of money. A new heater would lower their bills and their stress levels without a doubt. With their big lead in the tournament, this team has a great chance of receiving a #1 or #2 seed in the final March Sadness tournament, giving them a better chance to win it all.Oil boiler replacement in Levittown, Pa

Vote In Conference Tournament 5

How does the top seed compare to the top seeds in the other tournaments?

Out of the top seeds so far, Team Hot And Heavy ranks fifth as far as highest percentage of total votes. To compare, Team Love Not War has 52.4% of the tournament votes. Team Half A Century Old has 60.9% of the votes. Team Up In Smoke has 80.0% of the tournament votes. Team We Need A Break has 82.6% of the tournament votes. Team Baby Ice has 93.1% of the votes.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the other top teams are doing better or worse than Team Hot And Heavy. Percentage of votes depends on how many fans are actually watching and voting in the tournament. Ultimately, our well-trained Selection Committee will determine seed placements based on multiple factors. While number of votes is the main factor, other team attributes will play a role.

What team has the possibility of improving its ranking?

Team On The Brink Of Breaking of Montgomery County is in 2nd place with 26.6% of the tournament votes. If the fans upped their participation a decent amount, it's possible that they could make a comeback. This team's boiler is hanging on by a thread. It was about to quit last winter, but they were able to keep it going. Unfortunately, it's ony a matter of time before their boiler quits for good. On top of that, they have no central air and are stuck lugging heavy, dangerous window units upstairs each summer. It's clear this team needs a makeover! But can they pull off taking the lead with less than two weeks left to vote? HVAC replacement in Montgomery County, Pa

Of the struggling teams, which loss might be most damaging?

Team Losing Our Cool, also in Levittown, is in 4th place with 1.1% of the votes. This AC unit is 25 to 30 years old and is rotting away as we speak. It's extremely inefficient, doesn't keep the house cool, and has a Freon leak in the line somewhere. This could truly be a sad loss if this team doesn't get more votes. Freon leaks can be dangerous and should definitely be taken care of. Not to mention, it's only March and we're already getting 70 degree days, so it's quite possible that we'll have a hot summer, which this team would definitely feel the effects of. Unfortunately, this team needs a lot more votes if they want the prize. AC upgrade in Levittown
Finally, there's Team Old Seadog of Levittown, Pa. in 3rd place with 7.4% of the tournament votes. This unit is too old to count and constantly quits throughout the winter. It would be a devastating loss for this team as well, as they are definitely in need of an upgrade. This is another team that needs to rally more support from its fans so that they have a chance at the free replacement.Fixing an old boiler in Levittown
