Features and Benefits

Energy savings

In independent studies, Nest thermostats saved an average of 10 to 12 percent on heating bills and 15 percent on cooling bills. That means it can pay for itself in under two years depending on your usage.

The Nest Thermostat E also lets you know when you're saving energy by displaying a leaf on the screen. The Leaf learns how to help you save, so it appears at different temperatures for different families. With Energy History, just check your phone to see how much energy you used and find out how to save more.

Controlled from the Nest appNest Thermostat E in Nest App

With the Nest app on your phone, laptop, or tablet, you can easily control your thermostat from anywhere.  Depending on what type of system you have, you can: change the target temperature, switch the system's fan, change your temperature schedule, and more.

Temperature sensors

Most homes don't have even temperatures across every room, and not everyone wants their room at the same setting. With the Nest Temperature Sensor, you can let your thermostat know which room should be at a certain temperature at a specific time of day. Whether you are looking for the same temperature throughout the home or more tailored comfort, you can increase accuracy with up to 10 sensors. The sensors detect temperature, humidity, proximity, occupancy, and ambient light to provide maximum comfort. They can be placed on a wall or shelf then can be set up in the Nest app and left to work their magic!

HVAC monitoring

HVAC monitoring is a helpful thermostat feature that can identify potential issues with your HVAC system. If a potential issue is detected, the thermostat will send you an alert via email or a Google Home app notification. The alert will tell you which system (heating or cooling) may have been affected so that you can take action before any problems get worse. These alerts also give HVAC technicians more context before coming out for service, which helps expedite the diagnosis and repair process.

URGENT ALERTS
If your thermostat detects an issue that may require immediate attention, you will receive an urgent alert right away. For example, if you turn on your cooling system but your home becomes warmer, your thermostat will let you know that you may have a serious issue with your air conditioning system.

EARLY WARNINGS
If your thermostat detects an issue that should be fixed soon, you will receive an early warning alert within a week of detecting the problem. For example, if your gas furnace briefly stops heating several times during its operation, you may have a problem with the flame sensor. If this problem isn’t fixed, it could cause your furnace to completely break down.

Additional benefits

The frosted display blends into any home and even lights up to show you the temperature when you're close by, then fades into the background when you walk away. The thermostat also works with 85 percent of 24V heating and cooling systems including gas, forced air, electric, heat pump, radiant, oil, hot water, solar, and geothermal, making it perfect for any home. You can even adjust the temperature of your Nest Thermostat E with the voice-activated Google Assistant.
Plus, you can enjoy an extended warranty when purchasing through a Nest Pro Contractor, like ECI Comfort.
