Trane® XV20i Variable Speed Heat PumpThe system's intelligent design enhances the installation, maintenance, and service experience. Homeowners can also take advantage of Trane Link and Trane Diagnostics technology, which offers remote and predictive services for precise installations. Additionally, technicians can access performance data to efficiently set up, monitor, and troubleshoot one of the most essential systems in a home.

According to the Trane Technologies press release, Rachel Rothman, the Chief Technologist and Executive Technical Director of Good Housekeeping, recently decided to upgrade her home with the Trane heat pump. To her delight, she immediately noticed a significant reduction in energy costs and a quieter operation. This firsthand experience further validates the outstanding performance and efficiency of the Trane heat pump, making it an excellent choice for homeowners seeking comfort and savings.

Katie Davis, vice president of engineering and technology for Residential HVAC & Supply at Trane Technologies expressed her excitement over the award: “We’re extremely proud that Good Housekeeping has recognized the XV20i Variable Speed Heat Pump. This system is a beacon of innovation, sustainability, and quality for homeowners who will benefit from its reliability as well as savings. The industry-leading technology designed into this system is the foundation for our next innovation, the cold climate heat pump.”

We also learned that Trane is conducting field trials for its cold climate heat pump (CCHP) following the success of its prototype in surpassing the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) requirements for the Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge. During testing at the DOE's lab, the system not only met but exceeded the testing requirements by performing in temperatures below the mandatory negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit DOE requirement.

The CCHP, along with current heat pumps like the XV20i, lessen the reliance on fossil fuels that emit harmful emissions that contribute to climate change. Solutions like these are helping Trane Technologies make significant progress toward its 2030 Sustainability Commitments and its 2050 net-zero carbon emissions target. The company is first in its industry with near and long-term emissions reduction targets externally validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
