Types of Mitsubishi Electric Heating and Cooling Units

From ducted to ductless, wall-mounted to floor-mounted, and single-zone to multi-zone, Mitsubishi has the solution for your home comfort. Check out the different types of units below to see which is best for your home, along with the advanced technology featured in each type.

Key Features

Below are the various features that are built into the different Mitsubishi units.

Single vs Multi-zone

With a single-zone system, one outdoor unit connects to one indoor unit to provide comfort in one zone. With a multi-zone system, one outdoor unit connects to up to eight indoor unit to provide comfort in multiple zones.

3D i-See Sensor

The sensor works by thermally scanning the interior space for hot and cold spots to deliver the precise desired temperature.

The sensor divides the space in 3D zones, continuously measuring the temperature of each to detect the exact position of heat signatures. By creating the 3D profile, the sensor can even differentiate between when the space is occupied versus empty. When the space is occupied, the sensor identifies the heat signatures and directs the indoor unit to send cool or warm air as needed. The system may also be customized to direct the unit to send cool or warm air away from the heat signature.

Mitsubishi Electric Advanced Technology

Econo Cool

This feature adjusts the amount of air directed towards occupants based on the air-outlet temperature.

Nano-platinum Filter

The Nano-platinum Filter uses nanometer-sized platinum-ceramic particles that deodorize air and kill bacteria.

Electro-static Anti Allergy Enzyme Filter

This filter is charged with static electricity to attract and capture dust particles, bacteria, and molds and break them down into enzymes.

Swing Mode

Units with the Swing Mode capability can move air throughout the room like an oscillating fan.

Powerful Mode

This setting temporarily raises or drops the set temperature for 15 minutes so that automatic fan speed adjustments (made possible by the INVERTER) will more quickly bring your room to the desired temperature.

Light Commercial

This feature means that a unit is suitable for light commercial settings such as restaurants, classrooms, retail, and small offices.

Types of Indoor Units

Wall-mounted

Wall-mounted units are the most popular and versatile type of indoor ductless unit. These units sit high on the wall and come in different styles to match your décor needs. They are equipped with advanced filters and are great for both residential and commercial use.

FS Model
The FS model is a newer, popular style for many homeowners. With its 3D i-See Sensor, the unit can detect occupancy and direct tempered air can towards or away from occupants for maximum comfort. Sound levels can be as low as 20 decibels, which can be compared to the sound of a ticking watch. Plus, high-quality air filters eliminate unwanted smells and allergens. The FS model is also equipped with Dual Barrier Coating, which protects the interior of the unit against the build up of dust, dirt, and oil, thereby reducing maintenance and increasing lifespan and efficiency. Check out the FS model in action below.
