How LIHEAP Works
LIHEAP provides cash grants to help with heating bills and crisis grants for emergency situations, such as running out of heating oil or facing a utility shutoff. These grants are payments made directly to your heating company—not loans—so they never need to be repaid.

Our Company Accepts LIHEAP Grants
At ECI Comfort and My Express Oil, we proudly accept LIHEAP grants as payment for home heating oil. Once your application is approved and your grant funds are released, the payment is sent directly to us on your behalf. This means you can continue to order oil and keep your home warm without worrying about upfront costs while waiting for your LIHEAP funds.
Important Update for the 2025–2026 LIHEAP Season
Due to the federal government shutdown and lack of federal funding, the opening of the 2025–2026 LIHEAP season has been delayed until December 3, 2025, contingent on when federal funding becomes available. Here’s what you need to know:

LIHEAP Cash pre-season applications are still being accepted.

However, payments, vouchers, and customer notices will not be processed or sent until the shutdown ends.

Regular LIHEAP Cash and Crisis applications cannot be submitted until the official season opening.

The state of Pennsylvania will begin the LIHEAP season only after federal funding is received.
We understand this delay may cause concern, and we’ll continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
