Upgrading your heating and air conditioning equipment is never more affordable. Homeowners in Southeastern Pennsylvania, which includes Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties, can upgrade their heaters and air conditioners with new high efficiency equipment. Financing Rates of .99, 4.99 and 5.99 percent are available for terms up to 10 years to help make high efficiency equipment affordable to almost all homeowners. For example, for a 10 year $10,000.00 loan, the monthly payment is less than 100.00 per month. This payment is largely offset by utility savings incurred with the newer high efficiency equipment.
We love working with people who have older homes and would like to replace existing equipment or add additional systems.
Because we started as an oil service company, most of our customers had older homes with hot water boilers with baseboard or radiator heating systems. A lot of these homes have boilers that are very old - some as old as 50 to 60 years old. Many of these boilers are as a big as a small car and are extremely inefficient. We have replaced many of these boilers and replaced them with new high efficiency units a third the size. In a lot of these cases we install an indirect domestic hot water tank and have seen reductions in Oil usage as high as 40 percent.
If you live in the Philadelphia area served by PGW for natural gas, there are some really good rebates out there that you should know about for upgrading your home heating equipment.
You save big by updating older inefficient natural gas heaters and use less natural gas with savings up to 40 to 50 percent. PGW is giving rebates of 2000.00 to upgrade old inefficient boilers with new boilers that are 94 percent efficient or better.
Ductless Split Systems
A ductless Heat Pump / Air conditioner is a system that circulates cool/hot air in a building without ductwork. These systems are an affordable alternative to central heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC ) systems, which need a network of ducts to move air. Ductless systems are generally considered to be more efficient and easier to maintain than window air conditioners.
Paul Giorgi of ECI Comfort paid a visit to Kevin and Brittney Morgan of Parkwood in Philadelphia to perform an Energy Assessment. Paul who is a Comfort Adviser at ECI Comfort is a BPI Certified Building Analyst. During his Assessment, he uses specialized tools that can monitor efficiency levels throughout the house. These tools provide evidence that show the homeowner visually, the areas in which they can improve.
In the past couple of months we have had an increasing number of people who are calling us about adding central air conditioning, strictly as a benefit for resale of their homes. The majority of these calls are older homes with hydronic heating with either baseboards or radiators and no existing duct work. In most cases these people are looking for high velocity or Mitsubishi ductless splits systems which our company has come to specialize in. These systems use no duct work at all or use compact air handlers and small 2 inch duct work which can be installed in existing homes with little or no modification to the existing structure.
